President William Ruto and opposition boss Raila Odinga have taken to social media to express their discrepancy on the removal of four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials.
President Ruto via a tweet on Sunday, December 4 reiterated his decision to suspend the four commissioners as well as the formation of a tribunal to investigate their conduct during the August 2022 polls.
The head of state also criticized Raila Odinga for planning public rallies to protest the suspension of IEBC commissioners including Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyang’aya, Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi.
“Even with the system/deep state you LOST the election. STOP deluding yourself & LYING. The coup to OVERTURN the PEOPLE’S will using rogue commissioners, you are now threatening us with maandamano about, FAILED. TRIBUNAL will determine their guilt or innocence. RULE of LAW it is,” Ruto told Raila in a tweet.

“Usijifanye leo hii kwamba umesahau (do not pretend today that you have forgotten) when the shoe was firmly on the other foot. Let me just leave this here,” Raila tweeted.
Moreover, the tribunal to carry out investigations on the conduct of the four IEBC commissioners led by Justice Aggrey Muchelule is set to begin the process.
