Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has advised President William Ruto to take time and listen to the opinion of political leaders and the people.
In a statement on X, Ngunyi argued that President Ruto should listen to South African opposition chief Julius Malema, Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Members of Parliament who said the ground was hostile.
“Listen to Kenyans who said that the State of Nation address was underwhelming,” said Ngunyi.
It is not always right to be right. Ask God!” said Ngunyi.
Further, the analyst explained that State House has a resident disease called Intellectual incest where if the King is naked, no one will tell him.
Referring to the Bible, Ngunyi stated that God sent Malema to travel to Kenya and advise President Ruto.
“In the Bible, God used a donkey to speak to the Prophet. Now God has sent a non-descript unionist called Julius Malema to tell us that the King is naked,” he said.
Malema Attacks Ruto
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema criticized President Ruto for failing to deliver his promises.
Speaking on Thursday, November 9, in Kenya, Malema said Ruto has changed ever since he took succeeded former President Uhuru Kenyatta in September 2022.
“I don’t know if President William Ruto means it because he said so many things and I can’t locate these days because the things he said during elections and the things he is doing now are two different things,” said Malema.
Additionally, the EFF boss accused President of not being honest with his fight against dollar and creation of one African currency.
“I heard him saying that we need to do away with the dollar and build our own currency, but his actions are speaking to anything of eradicating the US dollar,” he explained.

Bishop Ole Sapit
In a past forum, Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit called out President Ruto for failing to address high cost of living in the country.

Also, Ole Sapit expressed concerns that the government was overburdening its citizens with taxes.
Further Ole Sapit challenged President Ruto’s administration to look for alternative sources of revenue collection.
“It is imperative for our government to appreciate the fact that Kenyan citizens are already stretched to their limits”, said Sapit.
Again, the archbishop explained that the government cannot only rely on taxation as an economic way of development for the country.
“We must collectively accept that economic development cannot solely rely on taxation as its primary source of revenue,” said Sapit.
Barasa’s Warning
Surprisingly, a section of politicians from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance have also come open to criticize some of the decisions made by the government.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa who is a member of the UDA party slammed the president for increasing charges on basics like Identification Cards, passports, and marriage certificates.
In a statement on X, Barasa accused Kenya Kwanza politicians of being dishonest in presence of power and Money.
“These characters seem power drunk, eating taxes with a big spoon, wearing the most expensive designer shoes and vomiting remnants on Kenyans who walk bare feet!” said Barasa.
Additionally, Barasa warned that the nation was headed in the wrong direction and accused the government of oppressing Kenyans.
“Things are taking a wrong trajectory; I’m raising my voice! Wananchi are suffering! The Government must listen! A marriage certificate for example has cruised from 30k to 100k! Are we for real? Why oppress citizens?” he said.

Opposition’s Stand
In addition, the Azimio One Kenya Alliance led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have been vocal about the high cost of living.
In previous occasions, Raila ans his supporters took to the streets to protest over the high cost of living.
This adds to the citizens who have also taken to social media platforms to criticize the president over the high cost of living.
