KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has resigned from the party, weeks after being suspended.
Salat decided to resign even as a disciplinary process to investigate him was ongoing.

In his resignation letter, Salat termed his expulsion unlawful .
“However, and pursuant to section 14 of the Political Parties Act, I hereby with a heavy heart but with a clear conscience, tender my resignation from the Kanu party effective the date specified hereunder,” the letter read.

“It is in my position that my purported dismissal from the position of Secretary General as communicated through the press was unlawful and against the rules of natural justice,”it adds.

KANU suspended Salat as the party secretary general from the party on December 15 following a national executive council meeting in Nakuru.
Salat however failed to show up before the KANU committee.
The committee chaired by Kilgoris MP Julius Sunkuli had been given 30 days to finalise the matter.
