The World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) 2023 has officially kicked off at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) in Nairobi Kenya.
The two-day event organized by Tradepass is a multi-stakeholder platform that has drawn several delegates, among them technology and business heads from the leading banks, Insurance and Micro-finance institutions across the country.
Moreover, WFIS 2023 Kenya has brought together companies like Mastercard the diamond sponsors of the event, ITSCREDIT, Perfios Software Solution, Crayon Data, Redington, Safricloud, Genesys, BUI, DZ Card (Africa) Ltd, iiDENTIFii and Paystack.
All these companies have exhibition stalls at the venue showcasing their best fintech solutions to the industry.

The acting Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Institute of Bankers Dr. James Wanjagi while speaking during the event talked about comprehending the digital transformation of the Financial Service Industry (FSI) in Africa.
He led a discussion on the key players in the FSI ecosystem, digital banking and financial inclusion, digital banking, and SME’s as well as the challenges that must be addressed in the industry.
Dr. Wanjagi noted that some of the challenges African countries encounter in the transformation to a digital era include lack of infrastructure, lack of skilled workers, security concerns, regulatory challenges, and lack of financial literacy.
