The English Premier League (EPL) 25/26 season transfer deadline day is set for Monday, September 1, 2025, when it will be the last chance for clubs to make big summer signings before the window shuts at 19:00 BST.
That’s four hours earlier than the traditional 23:00 deadline. However, clubs still have a two-hour grace period to finalize deals if they submit paperwork before the cutoff.
This year’s summer window was split into two. It opened from June 1 to June 10 to allow participants in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup to register players for the tournament. It then paused and reopened on 16 June 16, running through to September 1 at 19:00 BST.
Across Big European Leagues
The revised closing time of 19:00 BST on September 1 also applies to the EFL, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1—promoting synchronization across top leagues.

Transfers may still occur after the deadline if they comply with the differing rules of receiving leagues.
What could happen on deadline day
It’s typically the busiest day of the transfer window, packed with last-minute deals.
Expected high-stakes moves
Liverpool: The Reds are reportedly preparing a £130 million bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. Newcastle has lined up Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart as his potential replacement.
Tottenham: Spurs are pursuing a creative midfielder, while West Ham target Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes for around £40 million.
Chelsea is seeking defensive reinforcements following an injury to Levi Colwill, as well as additional attacking options. Rumored targets include Fermin Lopez of Barcelona, while Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, and David Datro Fofana may be on their way out.
Manchester City and United: Manchester City continues to explore goalkeeper options, possibly eyeing Gianluigi Donnarumma, while United is involved in talks over the potential departures of Rasmus Hojlund and other players, including Sancho, Antony, and Garnacho. They are also monitoring keeper Senne Lammens and have a loan proposal for winger Ethan Williams.
