Ulinzi Stars Winger Boniface Muchiri has been recognized by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) for his hard work in representing Kenya in the CHAN 2024 Championships during the KDF DAY celebrations.
The ceremony, presided over by President William Ruto, who appeared in full military uniform for the first time since taking office, was held at Moi Barracks, Eldoret. Part of the celebrations aimed to honor the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) for their service and sacrifice in defending the country’s sovereignty and supporting national development.
Muchiri’s award recognizes his outstanding performance at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he delivered two key assists —one against Zambia and another against Madagascar —and helped Kenya reach the quarter-finals.
Muchiri, who was promoted from Senior Private to Corporal on August 27, was honourably mentioned by General Charles Kahariri, Chief of Defence Forces, as a shining example of excellence within the ranks.
His leadership and discipline, both on the pitch and in uniform, were praised by KDF.
“We are very grateful for your commitment, hard work and excellent performance while serving Kenya and, by extension, the KDF. We wish you success in future assignments.”
The ceremonial acknowledgment served as a symbolic reaffirmation of the KDF’s commitment to recognizing talent beyond the battlefield.
