President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to support Harambee Stars as they play against South Sudan in a friendly match.
In a video post, Ruto asked fans to turn up at Kasarani Stadium at 4pm to cheer the team.
“As we are all aware today at 4pm, Harambee Stars will be playing against South Sudan, I want to ask all Kenyans to show up to cheer our champions, the Harambee Star,” said President Ruto.
Further, the president congratulated the team for winning against Qatar in their last match.
“Congratulations Harambee Stars for winning against the Qatar national team last week, I am happy very many Kenyans showed up in Qatar to cheer our team,” stated Ruto.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba also rallied Kenyans to attend the match and support the national team.
“Let’s go and fill the Kasarani Stadium for the team,” said Namwamba.
Match Tickets
The friendly match between Kenya and South Sudan will be played at the Kasarani Stadium from 4pm.
According to Harambee Stars, the VIP tickets for the match are available at Ksh.500 while regulars go at Ksh.200.
Further, fans can get the tickets at Kenya Cinema (CBD) or the Kasarani stadium gate 12 and 2.
Moreover, the tickets are available between 8am up to 4pm when the match will kick off.

Harambee Stars Outshine Qatar
On Thursday, September 7, Harambee stars beat 2022 World Cup host Qatar in a friendly match played in Doha, Qatar.
FC Ararat-Armenia midfielder Amos Nondi set up Michael Olunga to score the winning goal in stoppage time.
Joseph Okumu scored Kenya’s first goal in the 20th minute before Hassan Al-Haydos converted a penalty in the 34th minute to level the score.
This was big win for Harambee Stars who are currently ranked 105 in the FIFA rankings far behind Qatar who are ranked 59.

World Cup Qualifiers
Harambee Stars is using the friendly games to prepare for the 2026 world cup qualifiers.
In the qualifiers, Harambee Stars is in group F with Ivory Coast, Gambia, Gabon, Burundi, and Seychelles.
Therefore, Kenya will have to top the group to make its first appearance at the global football event.
However, the national team was banned from taking part in the 2024 African Cup of nations qualifiers.
