Tottenham Hotspur Football Club manager Ange Postecoglou will know his fate as to whether he keeps his job at the North London club later this week when Daniel Levy, the club chairman comes back from holiday.
Ange Postecoglou, appointed as Tottenham Hotspur’s head coach in 2023, has been a polarizing figure in the 2024–2025 season.
His leadership culminated in a historic win in the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United, securing Tottenham’s first trophy in 17 years and qualifying them for the 2025–2026 Champions League.
This victory, celebrated with an open-top bus parade attended by an estimated 220,000 supporters, marked a significant achievement, ending a long drought since their last major silverware in 2008.

However, this European success is overshadowed by a disastrous domestic campaign in the Premier League, where Tottenham finished 17th with 38 points, recording 22 losses, their worst-ever finish in the competition.
This performance left them just one place above the relegation zone, 13 points clear of it, and 28 places behind the automatic Champions League qualification spots.
Postecoglou’s strategy, as he mentioned in early statements, prioritised the Europa League campaign post-January transfer window, potentially at the cost of domestic results.
This approach, while successful in Europe, has led to significant scrutiny over his ability to manage the team’s league performance, especially given the high expectations at a club of Tottenham’s stature.
The manager’s tactics have caused mixed reactions not only among the administration of the team but also in the Tottenham Hotspurs fanbase, with fans weighing the Europa League triumph against the Premier League debacle, and opinions varying based on priorities for short-term results versus long-term vision.
Due to chairman Daniel Levy’s absence from the United Kingdom over recent days, a decision on the potential sacking of Postecoglou remains “pending”. However, a significant overhaul is expected on and off the pitch this summer as Spurs aim to get back on track, with a managerial change not ruled out.
“I don’t feel I have completed the job. We’re still building. Since I came here, I had the belief of trying to win something and we have done that and I want to build on it,” Ange said to reporters after the Europa League Final Victory.

Potential Next Ange Replacement
Recent sources have mentioned Tottenham Hotspur seeking to find managers who could potentially replace Ange should the sack happen, and a few names have come up.
Mentioned in a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham might want to re-hire Jose Mourinho despite his previous departure not being on good terms.
Oliver Gasner has also been noted as the new favourite to replace Postecoglou, according to Football365.
Thomas Frank has been listed as a potential candidate, with TEAMtalk understanding that he might be considered, though it would be difficult with the ongoing projects at Brentford FC.
