Kirinyaga Woman Stabs Boyfriend to Death, Surrenders to Police

Police arrested a 38-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death in Kagio town, Kirinyaga County.

According to police reports, the suspect who worked as a barmaid at Kagio town, surrendered herself to officers shortly after committing the heinous act.

Kirinyaga West Subcounty Police Commander Moses Koskei in a statement, revealed that the victim had been brutally attacked.

“The victim sustained five stab wounds that ultimately led to his untimely demise.

The murder weapon, a knife, remains undiscovered, and authorities are now relying on the suspect’s cooperation to locate it,” Koskei said.

Love gone sour in Kirinyaga

Both the victim and the suspect hail from Gichugu constituency of Kirinyaga County and they were said to have been cohabiting in a rented house along Baricho Road.

Following the bizarre incident, police launched investigations to ascertain the motive behind the woman’s actions.

Preliminary findings suggested that it may have been a case of a love affair that had gone wrong.

The suspect is currently in custody at Kagio Police station as police piece evidence and complete investigations.

“We are expecting the suspect who is being held at Kagio police station to tell us where she hid the weapon which we will use as an exhibit,” Koskei stated.

Meanwhile, the body of the victim was transferred to Kerugoya Referral Hospital mortuary, pending a postmortem examination.

“It is deeply troubling to witness such a tragic event in our community. We are determined to get to the bottom of this and to bring the perpetrator to justice,” stated the Kirinyaga West Subcounty Police Commander during a press conference.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preventing such incidents.
