Popular comedian Propesa has shared the ordeal that preceded his break from social media that lasted for more than five days.
In a statement on Friday, the comedian recalled that two people approached him and threatened him while he was coming back to the capital from Thika. Feeling very scared and confused, he went home not understanding why he was being threatened.
“Hello, my friends, Yesterday as I was coming from Thika town some two people came to me and threatened me. I went back home very scared not knowing why I would I receive such threats,” Propesa noted.
Propesa had dedicated his X (Twitter) account to demand accountability from Immigration Principal Secretary Julius Bitok, consistently tagging him in his messages and demanding him to handle the national identity cards (IDs) case immediately.
In a series of posts on the platform, Propesa highlighted that Kenyans had not been receiving their IDs for over seven months citing the case of his brother who is about to join a university but has faced delays.
Other Kenyans also spoke about the same problem and he tried to support them by amplifying their voices.
Propesa Opens Up About His Scary Experience
On July 21 evening, he joined a discussion on X Spaces hosted by Amerix, where he talked about the same issue.

Upon returning home, he informed his family about the threats he received, turned off his phone, and went into hiding in fear of getting arrested.
In addition, Propesa mentioned that he had trouble accessing his X account and still doesn’t know what had happened, but he is trying to recover it.
“I have not been able to access my X account I still do not know what has happened, but I am still trying to recover it,” he stated.
Further, he expressed his gratitude to the Kenyans who posted about his disappearance, reminding everyone to look out for each other.

“I have seen fellow Kenyans post about my disappearance and I am very grateful for your concern. Let us be our brother’s keeper,” he noted.
Propesa further noted that he lives with his brothers, and he would not want them harmed because of asking for a simple document like an identification card.
