The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has listed areas set to receive rainfall from 19 May to 25 May 2026.
Several regions across the country are expected to experience continued showers, thunderstorms, and varying weather conditions during the week.
The forecast indicates a mixed pattern of sunny intervals, cloudy periods, and localized rainfall, depending on the region.
Kenya Met Highlands West, Lake Victoria Basin, and Rift Valley
Kenya Met has predicted that Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are expected to continue receiving rainfall during the period.
Mornings are expected to be sunny, with isolated showers possible in a few places. In the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms are expected in a few places across the region.

Nights will generally be partly cloudy, though some locations may still receive light showers.
Rainfall intensity varies from place to place, especially around Lake Victoria Basin, where convectional rainfall is common during this season.
Thunderstorms may also develop in isolated areas during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Lake Victoria Basin counties expected to experience this weather pattern include Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Busia, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Bungoma, while Western Highlands counties include Kisii and Nyamira.
Rift Valley counties include Nakuru, Narok, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, West Pokot, Kericho, and Bomet
Weather Pattern in Highlands East, North-Western and North-Eastern Kenya
Highlands East of the Rift Valley in North-western Kenya and North-eastern Kenya will experience a mix of cloudy mornings, sunny intervals, and isolated rainfall events.
In the Highlands East, mornings are likely to be cloudy before breaking into sunny periods, followed by afternoon showers in some areas.
North-western Kenya is expected to remain mostly sunny during the day with partly cloudy nights, although light morning rains may occur in a few places.
In North-eastern Kenya, sunny intervals will dominate daytime conditions, with partly cloudy nights and occasional light morning rains in some locations.
Isolated showers remain possible, particularly during transitional morning and afternoon hours.
Temperature conditions are expected to remain warm during the day, especially in low-lying and arid areas.

Weather Pattern in South-Eastern Lowlands and the Coast
South-eastern lowlands and the Coast are expected to experience a mix of sunny intervals, cloudy nights, and occasional showers.
In the South-eastern lowlands, sunny conditions will dominate during the daytime, although isolated afternoon showers may occur in some places.
The Coastal region will see sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy nights and morning and night showers in a few areas.
These coastal showers may be influenced by onshore winds that bring moisture from the Indian Ocean, leading to brief periods of rainfall in select locations.
