The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has announced that most parts of the country are expected to remain sunny and dry during the period from November 18 to November 24.
In a forecast released on Monday evening, November 17, the weather department warned that some parts of the country would continue to receive rainfall.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, rainfall is expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the Southeastern lowlands, and North Eastern Kenya,” said Kenya Met.
Afternoon showers in the Rift Valley
According to the forecast, regions west of the Rift Valley, including the Highlands and the Lake Victoria Basin, will experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.

There is also a chance of morning rains, as well as afternoon and nighttime showers with thunderstorms in a few areas in the region.
Counties in this region include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, and Narok.
Hot weather in the Coast Region
According to the forecast, daytime (maximum) average temperatures exceeding 30°C are expected in the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya, as well as some parts of the Southeastern lowlands, the Rift Valley, and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
On the other hand, nighttime (minimum) average temperatures are expected to be below 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, and near Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Weather forecast for Nairobi and its Environs
In northwestern Kenya, including counties like Turkana and Samburu, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
The Highlands east of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi and its surrounding areas, are forecasted to have sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
However, there is a possibility of afternoon showers in some locations.
Counties in this region include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi.

In northeastern Kenya, which includes counties such as Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night, along with a chance of morning rains and afternoon showers in some areas.
The southeastern lowlands, encompassing counties such as Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta, as well as inland areas of Tana River, are forecasted to experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night. There is also a likelihood of morning rains, as well as afternoon and nighttime showers, in a few places.
In the Coast region, including counties such as Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River County, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night; however, morning and afternoon showers are also possible over some areas.
