The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a seven-day weather forecast covering the period from Tuesday, 22nd July to Tuesday, 28th July 2025.
Kenya Met forecast captured rainfall along with cold and cloudy weather conditions in many parts of the country.
The weatherman stated that rainfall is expected in some parts of the country, mainly in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley.
While occasional cold and cloudy conditions are likely to occur over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley.
KMD Gives a Detailed Regional Forecast
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and parts of the Rift Valley — including Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, and Narok counties — are expected to experience sunny intervals in the mornings, though light rains may occur in a few areas.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to be experienced in isolated areas, occasionally spreading to several locations, while night showers are expected in a few places.
“Rainfall is expected over a few parts of the country, mainly in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley,” Kenya Met announced.
Meanwhile, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi counties, are likely to experience cloudy mornings with light rains over a few areas, followed by sunny intervals.
Occasional afternoon showers are expected, particularly over high-altitude areas, while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.

North-Western
The areas include Turkana and Samburu Counties.
The weatherman has stated that sunny intervals are likely to be experienced during the day, while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
However, there is a possibility of morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers occurring over a few places.

North-Eastern
North-eastern Kenya includes Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties.
Sunny intervals are expected during the day, while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
The South-eastern lowlands, which include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County.
Mornings are likely to be cloudy, giving way to sunny intervals, while nights are expected to be partly cloudy.
Coastal Areas
The Coast, which includes Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River County.
Sunny intervals are expected during the day, while nights are likely to be partly cloudy. However, occasional morning and afternoon showers may occur in a few places.
