The United Kingdom (UK) will provide an additional £500 million ($681.4 million) to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
British Defence Secretary John Healey announced on February 12, ahead of a NATO defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels.
“As we approach the fifth year of Putin’s full-scale invasion, the UK and our allies are more committed than ever to supporting Ukraine,” he said.
“I’m proud of the UK’s continued leadership and pleased to confirm a new half a billion-pound package of air defence, including £150 million for PURL, to help Ukrainians defend against Putin’s relentless drone and missile attacks.”
Healey said the new package includes £150 million ($205 million) for NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), a U.S.-led initiative that coordinates rapid delivery of high-priority air defense equipment to Ukraine.

In addition, the United Kingdom will supply 1,000 British-made light multi-role missiles to help defend key urban areas and infrastructure.
“This support underscores the UK’s role in shaping a stronger European security framework and providing tangible assistance to Ukraine,” Healey said.
The announcement follows the February 11 meeting of EU defence ministers, which focused on defense cooperation and continued support for Ukraine.
At the NATO discussions, ministers are expected to address ongoing support for Ukraine, enhancing NATO’s eastern flank, Arctic security, and defense spending commitments.

The United Kingdom also plans to supply a further 1,200 air defence missiles and 200,000 artillery shells through the Air Defense Consortium (ADC) over the coming months.
In addition, the Great Britain will supply 1,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMMs), produced in Belfast, to help protect Ukrainian cities and infrastructure from intensified Russian drone and missile attacks.
The £390 million package reflects growing cooperation between the United Kingdom and Ukrainian industries, including the transfer of production and support for Rapid Ranger launchers and command-and-control vehicles to Ukraine.

What NATO’s Meeting Will Entail
The 50-nation meeting will be co-chaired by the United Kingdom and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, and will include Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles.
During the talks, Ukraine’s allies are expected to review the country’s military priorities for 2026, exchange battlefield intelligence, coordinate equipment deliveries, and identify gaps in defense capabilities that require urgent attention.
Under the NATO Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, NATO shall coordinate the acquisition of advanced U.S. defence equipment to support Ukraine’s air defence.
