The President of the U.S. Donald Trump is reportedly preparing for an all-out war with Iran by amassing military assets in the Middle East, signaling possible intervention following Tehran’s violent crackdown on protesters.
According to a statement dated Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 29 C-17 military transport aircraft and 12 refueling tankers have arrived in the Middle East over the past five days, particularly in Qatar and Jordan.
“Trump is preparing for an all-out war with Iran. In the past 5 days, a total of 29 C-17 military transport aircraft and 12 refueling tankers have arrived in the Middle East, in particular Qatar and Jordan,” read part of the statement.
Meanwhile, the deployments come amid escalating tensions, with Trump previously warning that the U.S. could strike Iran’s government if its security forces continued to use violence against demonstrators.
The protests, which began last month over economic grievances, have spread nationwide and are considered the largest demonstrations against Iran’s theocratic government since the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
Iran’s Response to Trump After Deployment
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States that Tehran will fight back with everything under renewed attack, after President Donald Trump reiterated threats against the Middle East country.
“Our powerful armed forces have no qualms about firing back with everything we have if we come under renewed attack,” read part of the statement.
Abbas contended the violent phase of the unrest lasted less than 72 hours and blamed armed demonstrators for the violence.
He added that the conflict would be much more intense and longer than people expect, could spread across the region, and affect ordinary people worldwide.
“An all-out confrontation will certainly be ferocious and drag on far, far longer than the fantasy timelines that Israel and its proxies are trying to peddle to the White House. It will certainly engulf the wider region and have an impact on ordinary people around the globe.” Said Abbas Araghchi.
Abbas’ warning comes as Iran continues a sweeping crackdown following weeks of protests over economic conditions, political repression, and governance failures.
Araghchi sought to portray the unrest as initially peaceful and legitimate but claimed it turned violent after what he described as foreign-backed terrorist infiltration.
Trump’s latest threat
Araghchi’s statement came a day after Trump repeated a warning that Iran would be wiped off the face of the earth if it ever succeeded in assassinating the US leader.

“I have very firm instructions. Anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this earth,” Said Trump
Previously, in response to threats against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that Trump already knew Tehran would not hold back if the tables were turned.
“Trump knows that if a hand of aggression is extended toward our leader, we will not only sever that hand, and this is not a mere slogan, but we will set their world on fire and leave them no safe haven in the region.” Said Shekarchi.
Elsewhere, Trump issued a similar warning to Iran a year ago, shortly after returning to the White House, stating that if they did it, they would get obliterated.
