In terms of air and naval assets, Russia has reportedly lost 434 planes, 347 helicopters, 4,163 cruise missiles, 1,278 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 108,605 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and 4,044 special equipment units.

Zelenskyy Says Russia Is Planning Major Attack on Ukraine
The report comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on January 16 that Russia is preparing a new wave of large-scale attacks on Ukraine as the country grapples with a deepening energy crisis.
He noted that Ukraine is working closely with its allies and stressed the urgent need for continued military assistance, particularly air defense systems and missiles, which remain insufficient despite ongoing efforts to accelerate supplies.
“Our intelligence reports that Russia is preparing new massive attacks,” Zelensky said.
“Supplies are insufficient. We are trying to speed things up, and it’s crucial that our partners hear us.”
Zelenskyy called for stronger international pressure on Russia, warning that global silence would only prolong the conflict.

Czech Republic to Supply Ukraine with Combat Jets
Czech Republic President Petr Pavel said on January 16 that his nation is set to provide Ukraine with medium combat planes highly effective against drones during his visit to Kyiv.
Pavel previously indicated that Czech-made subsonic L-159 fighter jets could be transferred to Ukraine and expressed confidence that the process would be concluded quickly and successfully.
The Czech army operates 24 L-159 jets, including one- and two-seater versions used for training and supporting ground forces.

These jets can be equipped with missiles and machine-gun pods, and have previously been used by Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State. Private companies also operate L-159 fleets for combat training in the US and UK air forces.
Zelenskyy acknowledged challenges with his country’s air defenses during a critical stage of the war.
Some systems supplied by Western allies had run out of ammunition amid repeated Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
He confirmed that new missile deliveries had arrived, but he urged both European allies and the United States to increase the supply of air defense systems.
