Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, has alleged that Russia continued large-scale attacks despite the ceasefire, which has accounted for 1,820 violations of the ceasefire plan.
Zelenskyy reported strikes on cities including Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Kramatorsk were all launched in a single day.
According to the president, the Russian armies were in continuous active combat operations and terrorist shelling, and that served as a rejection of the ceasefire plan.
“Overall, as of 10 a.m., the Russian army has committed 1,820 violations of the ceasefire regime,” a statement from the Ukrainian President read.
In addition to active combat operations, the Russians are said to have engaged in an assault operation that neared 30.
Furthermore, more than 20 airstrike attacks had been recorded in Ukraine, as well as over 70 aerial bombs on the night of May 5 and the morning of May 6.
The president noted that the Russian armies had launched drone and missile attacks on Ukraine, which the Ukrainian Defense Forces were able to neutralize about 90 of the drone strikes.
Shelling, attempted assaults, air strikes, and drone attacks on Ukraine were all named by the Ukrainian President as ceasefire violations.
Following the attacks, the Ukrainian President has stated that the Russian appeals through the media and social networks requesting a pause in hostilities during the Moscow parade were not genuine.

Zelenskyy’s Advice to Russia
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called upon the Russians to end the attacks on the Ukrainians, citing that the killing of people was not part of the ceasefire plans.
Additionally, the Ukrainian president emphasized that despite the internet being cut off and communication being blocked by Russia, it was still possible to observe peaceful leadership.
Further, he affirmed that the ceasefire plan was still on the table and that all that was required was for the Russians to express a willingness to pursue peaceful resolutions.
He, however, noted that despite the ceasefire plan still in consideration based on the reports from the Ukrainian military and intelligence, further action against Russia’s violation will be taken.

Russia’s Ceasefire Violations
On May 6, the Russian army launched an attack in the Sumy border region in Ukraine, killing a woman in the strike that targeted a kindergarten despite the ceasefire plan between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia and Ukraine agreed earlier this week, announcing rival unilateral ceasefires without any agreement or monitoring, following the public celebration set to be held in Russia from May 8 to May 9.
Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andriy Sybiha, noted that the continued aggression by the Russians showed that they did not honor the ceasefire and were not diplomatic.
On May 5, Kyiv is alleged to have also launched attacks in Russia, killing two people in Cheboksary, more than 1,500 km (930 miles) away from Ukraine.
Despite the Russians attacking Ukraine, Moscow has not officially addressed Ukraine’s ceasefire demand but has threatened to launch massive missile attacks on Ukraine if the May 8 to 9 ceasefire plan is violated.
