Kenyan Dancehall musician KRG the Don is the owner of Casavera Lounge, located along Ngong Road, one of the most popular nightclubs in Nairobi.
Jamaican musician Konshens partied at the club during his 2021 tour of Kenya.
In a past interview, KRG stated that he spent Ksh200 million to purchase the land and construct the nightclub.
There were speculations that KRG does not own the club, and his work is to market Casavera Lounge.
The reports claimed that the Lounge is owned by a former business journalist.
KRG the Don Response to Allegations
KRG responded to these allegations that he’s not the owner of Casavera Lounge.
The Musician said that he does not care what people say about the ownership of the Club.
He explained that his work is not to please people, adding that ‘haters’ will write anything on social media.
“Write whatever you want, it won’t change the reality. I don’t work to please people! Haters will write anything,” he said.

KRG stated that he has been working on the project since March 2021, without making it public.
He stated that establishing and running such a business requires time, and he conducted numerous consultations before taking the leap.
However, KRG agreed that there are other people who have invested in Casavera, but he is the owner.
I have been working on this project for a long time, since March (2021) nimekuwa niworkia chini ya maji. Biashara kama hii huwezi build na one day, so I consulted my partners, architect, and people who have been in the club business for long. I haven’t invested in this project alone; I have my partners who have invested.

Casevera Temporary Closure
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) closed the Club in February 2024.
However, the KRG stated that the decision to temporarily close the establishment was due to the challenges of operating in the competitive Nairobi entertainment scene.
He explained that Casavera needed to undergo improvements to meet the evolving standards of entertainment venues in the area.
“We closed temporarily to make improvements, you know many clubs have opened in that area [Kilimani]. The club business is like a beautiful girl, there are new ones every day, so if you love her you must always take her back to the salon,” KRG said.
