Deputy President (DP) nominee Kithure Kindiki has received President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto in Kwale County for the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
According to reports, Kindiki received the president at the County Commissioners office in Kwale.
In photos shared on social media, Kindiki is seen shaking hands with the President, while Rachel is present in the background.
Ruto arrived in Kwale from Mombasa, where he spent the night in preparation for the celebration.
Other leaders present included Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Trade Cabinet Secretary (CS) Salim Mvurya, and Interior PS Raymond Omollo.
Mvurya received the President and the First Lady in Mombasa on Saturday, October 19.
This comes even as the impeached DP Rigathi Gachagua took to his social media accounts to wish Kenyans a happy mashujaa day celebrations.
“Happy Mashujaa Day dear Kenyans. God Bless our Nation,” Gachagua wrote.
However, it is not clear whether Gachagua will be attending the event.
Kindiki & CS s Who Have Arrived
Currently, Kindiki has arrived at the venue at the President is expected to arrive soon after him.
The CSs who have arrived at the venue include Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, Davis Chirchir, Julius Migos, Kipchumba Murkomen, Beatrice Askul, Deborah Barasa, Rebecca Miano, Alfred Mutua, Justin Muturi, and Ali Hassan Joho.
Lamu County Governor Fahim Yasin Twaha and his Mombasa counterpart Abdullswamad Sherrif have also arrived.

Ruto Mashujaa Message
President Ruto has urged Kenyans to use Mashujaa Day to celebrate those who dedicated their lives to liberating the country.
He expressed hope for a future where all Kenyans can access affordable housing through the Affordable Housing Program (AHP).
“On this special day, we honor the courage and dedication of those who made Kenya what it is today. We look forward to a future where affordable and decent housing is a reality for every Kenyan, a future that our heroes would be proud of,” Ruto stated.

Other Leaders
Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen also wished Kenyans a happy Mashujaa Day stating that the previous generations bequeathed Kenya freedom and the foundation for prosperity.
For this reason, Murkomen stated that the current generation owes the next one a more cohesive and prosperous nation.
“On this Mashujaa Day, I celebrate the heroes of our independence struggle and everyone adding another layer to our economy,” Murkomen said.
He called on Kenyans to support AHP so that everyone may live in comfort and dignity.
In her message, Tourism CS Rebecca Miano also mentioned that the celebrations mark the government’s efforts to improve the quality of houses through the AHP.
“As we commemorate our heroes, we are reminded of the importance of sustainable development, which supports both our people and environment. We look forward to contributing to this vision by promoting eco-friendly housing solutions that protect Kenya’s natural heritage while enhancing the quality of life for all citizens,” Miano said.
