The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has announced the sale of unserviceable motor vehicles, assorted old equipment and old tyres by public auction.
In a notice on June 4 KFS invited sealed tenders from eligible candidates for disposal of the vehicles and Tyres.
A complete set of tender documents may be obtained by interested candidates upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ksh. 1,000 in cash or banker’s cheque payable to the Director, Kenya Forest Service.
The documents can also be downloaded from the KFS website or from the public procurement portal; tenders.go.ke free of charge.
Tenderers will also be required to pay in advance a refundable deposit as indicated in the Appendix to Instruction to tenderers in the tender documents.
How to Bid at KFS
Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information from and inspect the tender documents at the Supply Chain Management Department at KFS headquarters, Karura off Kiambu Road, P.O. Box 30513- 00100, and Tel 020-2397660/020-8023043 Nairobi during normal working hours.
Items will be sold on an “As where is basis” and tenderers are required to visit the indicated locations during normal working hours to view the items prior to bidding.

“Those who download the tender documents and intend to submit a bid are required to submit their particulars to the Supply Chain Department’s Office for records and for the purpose of receiving any further tender clarifications and/or addendums,” the notice read.
Tender documents are to be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes, marked with the tender number and name and be deposited in the Tender Box at Kenya Forest Service Headquarters, Reception area.
They can also be addressed to the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kenya Forest Service P.O. Box 30513-00100 Nairobi to be received on or before Tuesday June 18, 2024, at 11:00am.
Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the candidates’ representatives who choose to attend the opening at Kenya Forest Service Headquarters located in Kanara, off Kiambu road.
All bidders must serialize their documents Chief Conservator of Forests.
Ministry of Environment Vehicle Auction
The State Department for Environment and Climate Change in conjunction with appointed Auctioneer M/s PETFRIEND AUCTIONEERS has invited bidders to buy assorted furniture, scrap metal boarded unserviceable motor vehicles on Friday June 14, 2024, starting from 10.00 am at Kenya Meteorological Department Offices Auction grounds at Dagoretti Corner along Ngong Road.
The document containing detailed information may be obtained from the State Department for Environment and Climate Change Headquarters (NHIF BUILDING) 11h floor room 1101 DIRECTOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICE within the normal working hours.

How to Bid
All interested bidders may view the Disposal items and equipment at Ministry Headquarters NHIF Building, KMD offices and Nema Offices at South C offices from the 4th of June 2024 to 11th June 2024 during normal working hours (8.00am-5.00pm).
Furthermore, interested bidders are required to pay a REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of Ksh. 10,000 to obtain a bidding number.
The deposit shall be paid in cash at The State Department for Environment and Climate Change Headquarters Cash Office 11th Floor and will be treated as part payment for the successful bidders.
The vehicles are sold on as is where is basis and are subjected to reasonable reserve price and successful bidder must pay a deposit of 25% of the purchase price by the fall of the hammer.
However, the purchased motor vehicles must be collected from the respective yards within 7 days failure to which storage fee will be charged at Ksh. 1000/= (one thousand) per day.
Successful bidder shall pay all costs, applicable duties and taxes assorted with transfer of the purchased motor vehicle while the unsuccessful bidders will be refunded bid deposits on presentation of the original receipt within a reasonable time after the auction.
