Deputy President William Ruto has claimed that at least 1 million voters from his ‘strongholds’ have been removed from the IEBC register
Speaking when he met the EU ambassadors at his Karen residence, Ruto said that some forces within government are hellbent on influencing the outcome of the August 9 elections
He particularly singled out the ICT ministry which he accused of being behind the schemes to manipulate the election results
The DP said his Kenya Kwanza team has confidence in the electoral body only if it is allowed to operate independently
He called on the EU to demand details from both the IEBC and the ICT ministry on how names of registered voters disappeared from the register
Last Week IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati said the commission was investigating cases of missing names from the register in some regions
