The popular Quivers Lounge wet hole along Thika Road on Friday, November 11, launched its baby at Kenol in Murang’a.
Being a new branch and new business, the owners thought it wise to invite men of God to bless the investment as it opened its doors to members of the public.
Well, some Catholic priest were specifically invited for the duty and duly did their job as required.
However, videos of the same which were first shared by Kiss 100, through social media did not settle well with a number of Kenyans, including former Gospel musician turned minister, Pastor T Mwangi.
Without wasting any time, the vocal man of God took to social media to condemn the Catholic priest for trying to sanitise sin.
In a long Facebook post seen by The Kenya Times, Pastor T explained why he felt it was out of order for the priests to bless a wet hole, mostly refered to as a sin hub.
Pastor T admitted indeed Jesus was at some point mentioned in the same sentence with alcohol(wine) but he only turned water into wine at a wedding and due to the emergency that had arisen.
According to Pastor T, the priests should have focused more on shunning something that is destroying the life of many youths instead of giving the same a nod.
The man of God quoted several verses while defending his argument and to some extent, many netizens echoed his sentiments.
Pastor T insisted that men of God should never play role in encouraging or supporting vices that even the Bible has shunned.
“SHAME SHAME
I hope the Catholic Bishop clergy will come out to condem such actions and activity because its not inline with our bibibilical ethics and doctrine. In a country where 70% are youth, where we are opening mega clubs and closing mega churches, it should act as an alarm of crisis. Christianity is becoming irrelevant to the youths and incoming generations because the tenet and values of our faith are being diluted by the very custodian.
I know someone will say Jesus turned water into wine as a miracle. The context was in a wedding where they served good wine and bad wine. Good wine was juice pressed from fresh grapes and it had no alcohol. They used to serve it first and it was for the rich and high table. Jesus turned water into good wine not bad wine, the fermented grapes juice.
Jesus was also a Nazarite from Nazareth the same vow was upon Samson and John hence he could not take any intoxicating drinks or alcohol because of the Nazarine nature.
The first man to take alcohol was Noah and he went naked and cursed his children. This club will be a base of immorality, marriages will end here, pregnancies will be conceived here and aborted at the same time, destinies will be aborted here hence the trade is not in line with our ethics.
Jesus interacted with sinners but Jesus never blessed sin. Soon we will dedicate drugs ware houses, brothels in the name of business.
Hii nayo ni Apana,” Pastor T wrote.

His statement sparked mixed reactions on social media with quite a multitude agreeing with him.
Others, however, faulted him and defended their argument with the fact that even sinners love God and should involve Him in whatever moves they make.
The same had earlier been criticised by thousands of Kenyans on social media who held the act by the priests to bless a night club was a conflict of interest.
Twitter was a flurry of activities after the said videos made rounds online as several Kenyans online condemned the move.
Do you think it was right for the priests to bless a night club or they were out of order?
