The Kenya Redcross has issued and update on a tragic accident which occurred in Migaa between Salgaa and Sachangwan area in Nakuru County on 9th December 2023, night.
The accident which was the second to happen in the area in less than a week saw scores injured and caused heavy traffic along the busy Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.
The Kenya Redcross confirmed that 14 individuals were injured during the accident. However, the team managed to stabilize the injured on-site before taking them to the hospital.
Meanwhile according to the Kenya Redcross affected individuals were evacuated to Nakuru General hospital with the support of well-wishers.
Support to Families of Salgaa Accident Victims
“14 individuals injured, stabilized on-site by the Red Cross Action Team and evacuated to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital with support from well-wishers,” stated Redcross.

Likewise, Kenya Redcross pledged psychological support to families affected in the Saturday crash.
“Kenya Police are currently clearing the scene and the Kenya Red Cross will provide psychosocial support to those affected,” said Kenya Redcross.
Salgaa Saturday Accident
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the accident involved a lorry and a 14-seater matatu in the afternoon of 9th December forcing Travellers to spend most of the night on the road.
“A tragic road accident involving a lorry and a 14-seater matatu has been reported at Migaa between Salgaa and Sachangwan in Nakuru County,” stated Kenya Redcross.
Nonetheless, Kenya Redcross noted that there were no fatalities reported while the injured are currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Provincial General Hospital.
Salgaa Blackspot
Notably, the Salgaa area has been known to be a blackspot for accidents with several deadly accidents happening in the past.
On the other hand, at least eight people were confirmed dead in a grisly road accident along the Ngata-Salgaa road on November 6, 2023.

The accident that occurred at 4:00 am, involved an 11-seater matatu and a lorry plying the Nakuru- Eldoret Highway.
Further, Nakuru County Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident noting that several others who were severely injured were rushed to the nearest hospital.
He added that many of the casualties were rushed to Nakuru Level 5 hospital and were receiving treatment.
