Videos circulating online have raised concerns among motorists over the movement of construction trucks linked to the Talanta Stadium project along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
The footage shows separate incidents involving heavy commercial vehicles, including a damaged car after a collision and a tipper truck driving on the wrong side of the road near the ASK grounds.
The incidents have sparked discussions on road safety, traffic management and the need for caution as construction activities continue along one of Nairobi’s busy highways.
Car Damaged After Attempted Collision Avoidance Along Ngong Road
In one video shared by the Motorists Association of Kenya, a maroon private vehicle is seen with extensive damage to its front bonnet area after an incident involving a construction truck linked to the Talanta Stadium site.

According to the footage recorded at 9:43 AM, the construction truck crossed the road unexpectedly, forcing the driver of the small car to make an emergency turn to avoid direct collision.
The driver applied emergency brakes and attempted to evade a direct collision with the truck, but the vehicle still suffered damage to the front section after hitting the heavy truck’s rear.
The impact left the bonnet heavily damaged, with images from the scene showing the extent of the crash.
The construction truck did not stop after the incident and continued with its activities. The footage has prompted concerns among motorists who use Ngong Road daily, especially during the construction vehicles and regular traffic.
At the time of reporting, authorities had not issued a public statement addressing the accident.
The Motorists Association of Kenya has called on the authorities to highlight the dangers associated with the construction trucks crossing the road
“Kindly highlight the danger these construction trucks crossing illegally on Ngong Road from Talanta Stadium pose,” said MoK.
Video Shows Tipper Truck on Wrong Side of Road
In a separate video shared by Duke of Gatanga on July 7, an orange tipper truck allegedly linked to construction activities is driving on the wrong side of Ngong Road near the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) grounds.
The footage captures the heavy vehicle moving across the road space used by motorists, raising concerns over the potential risks created by large trucks making unexpected movements on a busy highway.

During the construction, there are proper traffic control measures when such vehicles operate on and near public roads.
Measures include clearly marked access points, trained traffic marshals, designated truck routes, warning signs and controlled entry and exit points to reduce risks involving construction vehicles.
The Talanta Stadium project is among Kenya’s major ongoing infrastructure developments, with construction activities attracting increased movement of heavy machinery on Ngong Road.
The videos have also renewed discussions on accountability among construction companies, drivers and project managers to ensure that safety procedures are followed when operating heavy vehicles on public roads.
