The crash adds to ongoing concerns about road safety on major transport corridors, where accidents can injure passengers and disrupt traffic.
According to members of the public, the accident along the Nakuru–Eldoret Highway occurred barely a kilometer from Sachangwan center, and it has been less than a week since a lorry burst into flames on the same highway.
Motorists have since been advised to maintain safe speeds, observe traffic regulations and remain alert throughout their journeys.
In addition, members of the public, including Esther Mutuku, have urged drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before setting out, especially on long-distance trips.

Earlier Reported Accidents
The Nakuru–Eldoret Highway recorded several road accidents in 2026, resulting in fatalities, injuries and traffic disruptions.
Accidents have been reported at different locations including Sachangwan, Salgaa, Twin Bridge, Lessos and Migaa.
On June 22, five people were reported killed when a trailer collided with a tractor carrying logs near Matharu, close to Burnt Forest.
Preliminary police accounts suggested the trailer was traveling downhill at high speed and may have experienced brake failure.
In July, a collision involving a trailer and two matatus near Mlima Punda, close to Lessos Junction, killed several people.
The initial death toll was reported as seven, with subsequent reports indicating that it had risen to 11 after some injured victims died in hospital.
In a separate incident on September 5, five people died, and four others were injured when a Toyota Hiace matatu collided with a stationary truck at Twin Bridge.
According to the police, the truck had stalled on a climbing lane, and the matatu struck it from behind.
A temporary Nakuru–Eldoret Highway closure was reported in October after a fuel tanker exploded at Sachangwan, injuring two people.
