Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) National Youth Leader, Wanjiku Thiga, has reportedly been abducted by unknown individuals. Thiga, a close ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, confirmed the incident in a brief statement on X.
“I have been abducted at Kamakis,” Wanjiku has stated.
The news has raised immediate concern among her supporters and party members, with details surrounding the abduction remaining unclear.
At the same time, Kamakis is a popular stopover along the Eastern Bypass, raising questions about how such an incident could occur in a public setting.

The DCP is yet to issue an official statement, however, party insiders have indicated that they are treating the matter with urgency.
“My friend Wanjiku Thiga has been taken along Kamakis by unknown individuals. This has become too much !!!” X user Jay Wes stated.
Wanjiku has recently been vocal on national matters and politics and her abduction adds to growing fears over the safety of politically active youth leaders in the country.

Another Gachagua Ally Abducted
At the same time, the family of Peter Kawanjiru, a known ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claims that their relative was forcibly taken by individuals believed to be officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday, June 30, night.
According to the family, the officers, dressed in civilian clothes, stormed their home in Limuru at around 8:30 PM.
Moreover, they allegedly broke down doors, ransacked the house, and insisted on taking the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) youth leader into custody.
Eyewitnesses and family members recounted that over ten vehicles had arrived in the area before a sudden blackout occurred, followed by loud banging, gunshots, and widespread confusion.
“They said they were from DCI Kiambu Road and were looking for someone named Kawanjiru. When we refused to open, they started hitting the door with metal rods,“
“I asked them whether ha had killed someone or stollen property but they said that they were doing a job they had been commanded to do,” a family member narrated.
