Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that President William Ruto has formed a “killer squad” targeting leaders who oppose his government.
Speaking to the press, Gachagua revealed that Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi was tortured after being abducted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to Gachagua, Koimburi was attacked by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) shortly after attending a church service and addressing his supporters on his way home.
“He was chased, but managed to escape on a motorbike with the help of locals,” Gachagua said. “His vehicle was impounded, and his driver was arrested. The vehicle is still in the hands of the DCI.
“William Ruto has now formed a killer squad to deal with leaders,” said Gachagua,” he said.

Gachagua Gives Update on the Condition of the MP
Further, Gachagua said that he visited the MP in hospital, and learnt that he had been by professionals and sustained soft tissue injuries.
According to him, Koimburi is in a critical condition as a result of multiple sustained injuries.
“I have seen him and talked to the doctors. They have confirmed that George Koimburi was tortured by professionals.
“He has soft tissue injuries, a kind of torture done by professionals. He has lost his voice, and the doctors are working round the clock to restore his vocal cords,” he added.
Additionally, he said that the MP communicated to him through writing that his abductors forced him to inhale a chemical, confirmed to have interfered with his vocal chords.
There has been no official statement from the DCI or the Office of the President regarding the allegations.

Details of the Abduction Squad
According to Gachagua, sources within the National Police Service (NPS) have confirmed that President William Ruto, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, and Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat have formed a squad tasked with going after political opponents of the current regime.
According to insiders within the National Police Service, the special unit, comprising 20 highly trained officers, was directly involved in Koimburi’s abduction.
Furthermore, Gachagua said that the team reportedly operates outside standard police protocols and is allegedly being used to intimidate and silence outspoken leaders.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that Murkomen sent a direct message to them, stating that his appointment to the powerful Interior Ministry was meant to ensure Ruto’s re-election and to “deal with anyone who could threaten that objective.”
