Candidates who sat for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) can access their results through an online portal.
Education CS Julius Ogamba said the results can be accessed through a link provided on the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website.
Ogamba made this announcement on January 9, 2025, while releasing the results.
KNEC said the candidates will be required to enter their index number and name(s) they registered with.
“Individual 2024 KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC Website or directly through the URL: https://results.knec.ac.ke. You will be required to enter the candidate’s index number and the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2024 KCSE examination,” Ogamba said.
Earlier, Ogamba, accompanied by KNEC CEO David Njengere and Chairman Julius Nyabundi, briefed President William Ruto on the results before they were released.
Ruto said performance is improving in schools all over the country.
He pointed out that more girls are now enrolling and completing their schooling.
“We are glad that our education system keeps improving as we enrich the curriculum, hire more teachers and equip our schools with more learning materials and facilities,” Ruto said.
KCSE Malpractices
A total of 965,501 candidates were registered to sit for the national examinations.
The KCSE 2024 exams officially ended on November 22, 2024, marking the start of the marking process by examiners.
Ogamba said 621 examination malpractices cases were recorded at the conclusion of the examinations.
The CS said the cases were reported across 198 examination centres out of the 10,754 centres countrywide.

Further, he explained that the absence of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams could be causing the anxiety among parents and students.
“But what is different this year is that we did not have the KCPE, so it’s like something is missing. But we are releasing results within the next 10 days,” he said.
Kipsang also said that the Commission is carefully reviewing the KCSE results in response to concerns raised by some examiners about instances of malpractice during the examinations.
He reassured parents, teachers, and students that the integrity of the examination results remains uncompromised.
