Shortly after his arrest, Kairo took to his X account and asked Kenyans to pray for him.
“Can’t keep a man who is determined to win down. We will overcome everything Keep praying for me, keep supporting and keep wishing me well. It’s a tough economy that doesn’t favour youth driven enterprise lakini calm seas never make good sailors,” he said.
He went on to claim that the arrest was politically motivated, pointing out that he always gets arrested “every single time he is coming up, without any summons.”
This is notably the third time the businessman is being arrested.
Earlier this year, Khalif was arrested moments after attending another court mention for one of his multiple fraud cases.

The arrest at the time occurred after detectives swooped in over fresh allegations tied to a Volkswagen Tiguan, for which the businessman accepted payment but failed to deliver the SUV.
His appearance at the law courts was related to earlier fraud charges, for which he was granted a Ksh2 million cash bail on January 14, 2025.
The case also involved allegations of defrauding clients of millions by accepting payments for vehicles he never delivered.
On January 28, he was intercepted after a court session by detectives, who placed him in a police vehicle and drove him away for further questioning.
Fraud Allegations
In one of the ongoing cases, the businessman is accused of fraudulently obtaining Ksh2.1 million from a client between July 10 and July 25, 2024, in Westlands.
The money was paid through his company, Kai & Karo Limited, for the importation of a Honda Vezel Hybrid from Japan, which was never delivered.
In another instance, Khalif allegedly induced a female client to transfer Ksh2.98 million to Kai & Karo Limited’s KCB bank account between July 29 and November 16, 2024, for the purchase of a Subaru Outback.
However, the transaction was reportedly fraudulent, as the vehicle was never delivered.
The fresh allegations leading to his arrest on Tuesday come as detectives continue investigating Kairo’s business dealings.
