The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has re-opened its online application portal for the revision of choices for student placement to universities and colleges for the 2025/2026 cycle.
In a statement on May 17, 2025, KUCCPS announced that the system is now open for the revision of university, college, and programme choices from May 18th to 27th, 2025.
“Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service online application system is open for Revision of Choices for placement of students to universities and colleges for the 2025/2026 Placement Cycle,” read the Statement.
Further, the university placement body stated that applicants who did not secure a course during the application period that ended on April 30, 2025, are invited to log in again and select from the available courses listed on the KUCCPS portal.
KUCCPS Re-opens University Portal
Additionally, form four leavers who attained a mean grade in their KCSE exams but have not yet applied for placement are also encouraged to submit their applications during this revision period.
“To access the portal, visit the KUCCPS website kuccps.ac.ke and click the tab Student’s Portal. The Revision will run from 18th May 2025,” read part of the statement.
Students interested in applying for different courses are advised to log into the portal to apply. The deadline for applications is May 27, 2025.
Target Group for the Revision
The Revision of Choices targets:
1. Form Four Leavers who applied for placement to Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes between January and April 2025 unsuccessfully. These applicants have been notified by SMS messages and the Student’s Portal.
2. Candidates who attained mean grades of C+ or above in the 2024 KCSE examination and have not applied for Degree or TVET courses; and
3. Past KCSE candidates from the year 2000 to 2024 who have never enrolled in tertiary institu tions through KUCCPS.

KUCCPS has categorized the courses into different clusters groups as follows:
- Cluster 1 – Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) and Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) with IT.
- Cluster 2- Business, Hospitality and related.
- Cluster 3 – Social Sciences, Media Studies, Fine Arts, Film, Animation, Graphics & Related.
- Cluster 4 – Geosciences & Related.
- Cluster 5 – Engineering, Engineering Technology & Related.
- Cluster 6 – Architecture, Building Construction & Related.
- Cluster 7 – Computing, IT & Related.
- Cluster 8 – Agribusiness & Related.

Candidates should note that those enrolling in public universities are eligible for both government scholarships and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loans.
However, students joining private universities are eligible for HELB loans only.
