Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, suspected of killing at least 42 women and dismembering their bodies before dumping them at a quarry in the Kware area of Embakasi South, has denied the allegations.
Khalusha, through his lawyer John Maina Ndegwa, claimed in the Makadara Law Courts that he was tortured into confessing to the murders.
“My client, as he sits there, is in dire need of urgent medical attention…for reasons that the period under detention, he was subjected to molestation, torture and the confession that the public is being treated to having murdered 42 persons is laughable,” Ndegwa argued.
“My client has been subjected to horrendous inhuman mistreatment so that he can confess to issues which are alien to him. I pray that the court directs for urgent medical attention even as they do their investigations.”
Ndegwa further stated that much of what has been adduced before court is just mere speculation and apprehension.
“There is nothing concrete that has been tabled before this court. Whereas the IO and prosecution have the right to conduct investigations, my client under Article 50 has a right of fair trial and they cannot have all the time they wish in this world,” he said.

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohammed had earlier revealed that the 33-year-old confessed to being a serial killer and that his wife was his first suspect.
When he was arrested, the suspect claimed to have taken DCI officers to his single room house in Kware area, located about 100 meters from the crime scene.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to having lured, killed, and disposed of 42 female bodies at the dumping site, all murdered between 2022 and Thursday, 11th July 2024,” the statement reads in part.
“The suspect alleges that his first victim was his wife namely Imelda Judith Khalenya whom he strangled to death before dismembering her body and disposing it at the site. From his interrogation, all his victims have been murdered in like manner.”
Some of the items discovered by DCI officers included sim cards, smart phones, a laptop, a pink handbag, female under wears, rolls of bhang, and sacks among other items.
Elsewhere, the supposed relatives of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha in Vihiga County claim that the names provided by the DCI are contradictory.
Bonface Karanja, allegedly a cousin of the suspect, stated that his cousins’ names differ from Jumaisi’s.

“I have not confirmed if he is the one because both his names are different. I know Ketrine Shiusa and Collins Chimaiso. Maybe the name Collins Jumaisi was picked up; it does not relate to the ones I know,” he said.
“There is a big disconnect, and it is something I don’t have to talk about.”
Boda boda riders in Shamakhokho, Vihiga County, also stated that they do not recognize Jumaisi and have never seen him.
“Here in Shamakhokho we have never seen him, and we don’t know him. We just saw him on Social Media platforms,” one of the riders told the Media.
