Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Rebecca Miano has declared her net worth.
Speaking before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Saturday, August 3, Miano declared that her net worth is Ksh 444 million.
“My Net worth is Ksh 444 million,” Miano said.
This is an increase from Ksh. 397 million she revealed during her vetting before Parliament on October 21, 2022.
“Mr. chairman, I have not increased the assets, but what I have done is to revalue modestly the properties taking into account the appreciation and that’s why, it is unrealized, but it is an effect of evaluation on a reasonable side of things,” she said.
At the time, she noted she co-owned two houses: one in Nairobi and one in their rural home. They also had three vehicles: a Toyota Prado, an Isuzu truck, and a Mitsubishi Pajero.
Rebecca shared with the vetting committee, “I have a house in Nairobi, another in Nyahururu, and the rest are properties my husband and I have acquired over the last 30 years. The value reflects the current market value, which has appreciated over time.”
President Ruto had initially nominated Miano for the Attorney General post. However, he later moved her to the Tourism and Wildlife docket.
