Sharing Personal Data Claims
Recently, Kenyans have been raising complaints alleging that the telco giant publicly shares customers’ private information.
People on social media raised complaints, alleging that telco giant assists the deep state in kidnapping and abducting anti-government protesters.
However, in a statement issued on June 25, Safaricom acknowledged the online conversations and concerns raised surrounding data privacy and clarified that it had not shared any of its customers’ information with any government agency.
“We respect our customers privacy and adhere strictly by the country’s data protection laws. As such we do not share any customer data unless explicitly required of us via a court order,” Safaricom said.

By rescheduling, the company allows its users to enjoy an uninterrupted evening of sports and entertainment without worrying about service disruptions.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide you with best-in-class services,” the announcement concluded.
Safaricom has not yet announced the new date for the maintenance but assures customers that it will communicate this information promptly. The company continues to prioritize its customers’ needs and feedback in its ongoing efforts to deliver seamless and reliable services.
