Questions Over Payments to SGR Company
On the other hand, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah in May raised concerns over an alleged Ksh 777 billion overpayment of funds through the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
According to Omtatah, the money was overpaid to China Roads and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a Chinese company which he indicated received the funds at the expense of Kenyan taxpayers.
CRBC was the company contracted as the supplier of facilities and rolling stocks during the construction of the railway by the State Department for Transport.
