State House Remains Silent as Gachagua Fights Impeachment
The reports come at a time when the head of state has maintained his silence over the impeachment matter, as Gachagua makes several attempts to clear his name.
The Deputy President has announced that he will be addressing the nation at his official residence in Karen at 7pm.
Further, he is expected to appear before the National Assembly on Tuesday, October 8, to defend himself against an impeachment motion that cites 11 grounds for his proposed removal from office.
A total of 19 cases have been filed to stop Gachagua’s removal from office since the impeachment motion was initiated, and Parliament has asked the High Court to consolidate them.
In the latest case, High Court Judge Bahati Mwamuye for the second time declined to grant interim orders stopping the impeachment on Monday, October 7.

Gachagua’s Apology to Ruto
Speaking in Karen at a church service on Sunday, October 6, Gachagua apologized to President William Ruto and members of parliament, asking for forgiveness for any wrongdoing including his utterances.
“To my brother President William Ruto, if in our zeal to work, I have wronged you, please find it in your heart to forgive me. To our MPs if in the course of duty through our utterances and actions, we have wronged you, find it in your heart to forgive me.”
Poll results from the latest Tifa survey have revealed that while other regions of the country support the impeachment of the DP, residents of the Mount Kenya region believe that he is executing his duties well.
Additionally, the polls indicated that 35 percent of Kenyans who believe Gachagua should be impeached accused him of being discriminatory in favor of his own (Mt. Kenya) community.
