Super Metro Limited has announced that it will resume operations starting today, after completing a compliance review.
In a statement on April 17, 2025, Sacco stated that they have successfully met and surpassed all compliance requirements set by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB).
“Our team has worked tirelessly over the past three days to address all directives, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory adherence. We are excited to once again serve the people of Kenya, providing safe and efficient transport solutions to communities across the region,” the statement read.
Super Metro Limited also extended its gratitude to their customers, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities for their patience and support during this period. Further, they stated that they remain committed to maintaining full compliance and delivering exceptional service as they get back on the roads.
“Following a thorough review, we have been officially cleared to resume operations, effective today. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary suspension and look forward to welcoming you aboard our buses starting today,” read the statement.
Super Metro Suspension
The Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB) suspended the Saccos operations for three days. The Sacco informed the public and customers that it has achieved 90 percent compliance with the directives issued by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the TLAB.
Further, the Operator stated that it respects the decision and will resume operations when the authorities approve the compliance measures.
“Super Metro Limited fully respects the decisions of the TLAB and the court. We are working diligently to address the outstanding compliance issues within the stipulated timeframe and will resume operations as soon as we receive approval from the relevant authorities,” reads another part of the statement.

NTSA Suspension
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) suspended Super Metro Limited license on March 20, 2025.
NTSA issued a warning to members of the public against boarding vehicle belonging to the Company.
“This is to notify the Public that the Authority has suspended Super Metro Limited’s operator licence until the Company fully complies with the Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 2014 and other set conditions,” NTSA said.

Resumption of Operations
After the suspension by NTSA, the Sacco resumed operations after the TLAB temporarily lifted NTSA’s suspension on March 24,2025.
The matatu Sacco said it adhered to NTSA regulations, stating that the allegations against it were outdated and inaccurate.
The company refuted NTSA’s accusations that five of their 294 vehicles had expired inspection certificates, while fifteen lacked valid Road Service Licenses (RSL).
