President William Ruto hits back at Nyeri archbishop Anthony Muheria in a service at the Jesus Winner Ministry Roysambu.
Anthony Muheria and Ruto’s beef started after he recently criticized the president’s administration and governing policies including the Social Health Authority (SHA) crisis which has been a worrying factor to Kenyans.

“How I wish other bishops and churches could do what Jesus Winner Ministry is doing. Being part of the solution instead of festering the problem,” he said.
Additionally, he congratulated the bishop and the leadership of Jesus Winners Ministry for picking up the responsibility of the young people of this church and preparing them so that they could be part of our export of labour.

Further, Ruto promised Ksh20 million to aid in developing the infrastructure of the Jesus Winners Ministry, which the Catholic Church has been highly against.
“I know that people still criticize me on the issue concerning giving donations to the church, however, I will still give to this church,” he added.

He further claimed that he gives to the church because he is a product of giving to God and he stands unapologetic.
“I have accepted an invitation to your upcoming Harambee. In that Harambee I will call on my friends to help me raise Ksh100 million,” he added.
The SHA Anthem Continues
In addition, President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Sakaja continues to plead to Kenyans to enroll for the SHA so that they can access affordable health coverage.
“I want to make sure that everyone registers with SHA. Pick your phones and dial *147#,” Sakaja told the congregation.
Despite the public outcry that SHA is not working, the two insisted on Kenyans to register themselves on the scheme.
Additionally, Muheria has boldly spoken about the Social Health Authority (SHA) scheme, citing that the system is still not working.

Ruto and Muheria Cold War
Bishop Muheria’s recent words seem to have sparked a beef with the president.
The archbishop stepped on William Ruto’s toes after he criticized the government for the many unfulfilled promises.
“There has to be less rhetoric. We have to stop advertising what you will do. Act! The government is not an advertising agency,” he said.

Just a few hours after he had issued the statement, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi defended the government by citing that public participation is constitutional and updating Kenyans on projects is a vital role for them.
“Hence calling a government, an advertising agency is misleading Kenyans. It’s the government’s vital responsibility update to its citizens.” he added.
However, Muheria and Ruto appear to be in conflicting sides. With Catholic church constantly being the government’s watchdog and analyzing the failed projects and issues affecting Kenyans.
