Motorists in major Kenyan towns are set to pay significantly higher fuel prices after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority pushed pump prices to historic highs in its May–June fuel review.
A litre of diesel jumped by Ksh46.29 to retail at Ksh242.92 in Nairobi,effective Thursday, May 15, midnight, as consumers feel the impact of rising global oil prices linked to the US-Israel conflict involving Iran.
A litre of petrol will now retail at Ksh214.25, reflecting an increase of Ksh16.65, while kerosene remains unchanged at Ksh152.78. The prices will remain in force until June 14.
EPRA Maximum Pump Price in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Other Towns
In the latest EPRA review, motorists across different towns will pay varying prices depending on transport and distribution costs.
In Nakuru, super petrol will retail at Ksh213.15 per litre, diesel at Ksh242.33, and kerosene at Ksh152.21.
Motorists in Eldoret will pay Ksh213.92 for petrol, Ksh243.15 for diesel, and Ksh153.03 for kerosene.
In Kisumu, petrol will retail at Ksh213.91, while diesel and kerosene will cost Ksh243.14 and Ksh153.03 respectively.
Meanwhile, Mombasa recorded some of the lowest prices due to its proximity to the port, with petrol retailing at Ksh211.09, diesel at Ksh239.64, and kerosene at Ksh149.49.
Motorists in Kilifi will pay Ksh211.90 for petrol, Ksh240.51 for diesel, and Ksh150.36 for kerosene, while those in Likoni Mainland and Kwale will pay Ksh211.44 for petrol and Ksh240.02 for diesel.

In Malindi, petrol will retail at Ksh212.23, diesel at Ksh240.87, and kerosene at Ksh150.72, while residents in Lungalunga will pay Ksh212.25 for petrol and Ksh240.89 for diesel.
Motorists in Voi will buy petrol at Ksh213.13 per litre, diesel at Ksh241.83, and kerosene at Ksh151.69. In Taveta, petrol will retail at Ksh215.40 while diesel will cost Ksh244.27.
In Lamu, petrol will retail at Ksh216.06, diesel at Ksh244.99, and kerosene at Ksh154.84. Residents in Hola will pay Ksh216.52 for petrol and Ksh245.47 for diesel.
Motorists in Thika will pay Ksh213.92 for petrol, Ksh242.56 for diesel, and Ksh152.42 for kerosene, while those in Machakos will pay Ksh214.29 for petrol and Ksh242.97 for diesel.
In Kajiado, petrol will retail at Ksh214.58, diesel at Ksh243.28, and kerosene at Ksh153.13.
Residents in Murang’a will pay Ksh214.75 for petrol, Ksh243.45 for diesel, and Ksh153.31 for kerosene, while motorists in Sagana will pay Ksh215.10 for petrol.
In Embu, petrol will retail at Ksh215.69, diesel at Ksh244.46, and kerosene at Ksh154.31, while motorists in Kerugoya will pay Ksh215.56 for petrol.
Motorists in Narok will buy petrol at Ksh216.14 per litre, while Nyeri residents will pay Ksh216.12 for petrol and Ksh244.93 for diesel.
In Kitui, petrol will retail at Ksh216.38 while diesel will cost Ksh245.20. Residents in Mwingi will pay Ksh216.99 for petrol and Ksh245.87 for diesel.
Meanwhile, motorists in Nanyuki will buy petrol at Ksh217.02 per litre, diesel at Ksh245.89, and kerosene at Ksh155.75.

Prices in Other Towns
In the latest review, Molo will retail super petrol at Ksh212.87 per litre, diesel at Ksh242.03, and kerosene at Ksh151.91, while Londiani will sell petrol at Ksh213.22, diesel at Ksh242.41, and kerosene at Ksh152.29.
Nyahururu will retail petrol at Ksh213.20, diesel at Ksh242.39, and kerosene at Ksh152.28.
Maralal will sell petrol at Ksh216.52, diesel at Ksh245.95, and kerosene at Ksh155.83, while Kapsabet will retail petrol at Ksh213.59, diesel at Ksh242.82, and kerosene at Ksh152.70.
Webuye will sell petrol at Ksh214.26, diesel at Ksh243.52, and kerosene at Ksh153.40, while Moiben records similar prices at Ksh213.59 for petrol, Ksh242.82 for diesel, and Ksh152.70 for kerosene.
Kitale will retail petrol at Ksh214.15, diesel at Ksh243.42, and kerosene at Ksh153.30, while Burnt Forest will sell petrol at Ksh213.49, diesel at Ksh242.70, and kerosene at Ksh152.58.
Kimwarer will retail petrol at Ksh214.08, diesel at Ksh243.33, and kerosene at Ksh153.21, while Kapenguria will sell petrol at Ksh215.18, diesel at Ksh244.51, and kerosene at Ksh154.39. Bungoma will retail petrol at Ksh214.80, diesel at Ksh244.10, and kerosene at Ksh153.99.






The price differences are mainly due to transportation and storage costs and the distance to the port of Mombasa.
EPRA did not adjust kerosene prices during this cycle, which helped ease pressure on low-income households.
