Khalif Kairo Forced to Clarify Sale of Ksh72 M Valued Chopper After Backlash

Car dealer Khalif Kairo has been called out after trying to sell someone’s plane for an extra Ksh21 million.

Kairo posted on his X account that he has been contracted by a seller he referred to as Jetman Global to sell the plane at Ksh80 million. He asked Kenyans who are interested to send him an email to get the full specifications of the plane.

“Been contracted via Jetman Global to sell a very mint Bell 206, the listing price is quite attractive around Ksh.80 million. Shoot me an email via khalifkairo.com to get specs and full component status,” wrote Kairo.

Users on X have, however, discovered the seller’s website where all specifications have been indicated including the price of 450,000 Euros which translates to Ksh60 million.

X users attack Kairo

The company is called Europlane Sales Limited which is different from Jetman Global as stated by Kairo.

The discovery exposed Kairo to online backlash as some users stated that he is not to be trusted after a previous fraud indictment.

An X user named Rugi mocked Kairo’s post while responding and posted the specifications of the said plane and the link to the seller’s website.

“But this Bell 206B is being sold by a different company called Europlanes at 63 million Kenya shillings?” said an X user named Yule Mrasta.

Tei Kioko on his part had the following to say to Kairo “No one in their right mind can trust you. If you swindled a client Ksh25 million, who can trust you with their Ksh80 million?”

In response, Kairo stated that the extra amount is meant to cater for exportation, disassembly, and registration. He also stated that he had been in contact with the owner of the plane and went ahead to post screenshots of the chat.

“A plane costs Ksh72 million and we posted it at that price as seen in frame one six hours ago. Frame two is a chat with the owner, three weeks ago when we requested a “mandate”. To deliver to Kenya, you need approximately eight million extra for export work, disassembly, airfreight, and registration,” stated Kairo.

In December 2024, the car dealer was arrested for allegedly obtaining money by false pretense. He was accused of obtaining money from clients who purchased high-end cars that were not be delivered by his company.

Bankruptcy claims

He was accused of defrauding a client a total of Ksh26 million.
