Safaricom revised Fuliza M-PESA daily maintenance fees across different borrowing bands, introducing reduced charges and short-term free usage for customers.
Under the structure, customers borrowing between KSh101 and KSh500 will not be charged for the first three days, after which a daily fee of KSh2.50 will apply, down from the previous KSh5.00.
Those borrowing between KSh501 and KSh1,000 will also enjoy three free days before a daily charge of KSh5.00 begins, down from the earlier KSh10.00 fee.
For higher bands, borrowers in the KSh1,001–1,500 range will now pay KSh18.00, down from KSh20.00, while those in the KSh1,501–2,500 bracket will pay KSh20.00, down from KSh25.00.
Customers in the KSh2,501–70,000 category will now incur a daily fee of KSh25.00, down from KSh30.00.
The lowest band, KSh 1–100, remains unchanged with no daily maintenance fee.
M-PESA Fuliza Charges Across Different Tariff Bands
Customers using Fuliza M-PESA are charged a one-off 1 percent access fee upon borrowing, followed by a daily maintenance fee applied from midnight the next day.
In addition, an excise duty of 20 percent is charged on the daily maintenance fee, increasing the overall cost of borrowing.
The daily maintenance fee is calculated on the outstanding loan amount, in line with the applicable tariff structure.

Terms and Conditions for Borrowing via Fuliza
Fuliza M-PESA limits are allocated when a customer who has been active on the Safaricom network for at least six months activates the service.
The limit is determined by the customer’s usage history and transaction activity across both Safaricom and M-PESA services.
M-PESA customers who are registered using a Kenyan national ID, Kenyan passport, or military ID are eligible to activate Fuliza. However, eligibility for a loan limit is not guaranteed immediately upon activation.
Customers registered using a foreign passport are not eligible to opt in to Fuliza.
