Satellite communication provider Starlink has been listed among the top ten fixed internet providers in Kenya based on subscription market share.
Starlink recorded a quarterly subscriber growth rate of 14.4% from September to December 2025, reaching 22,282 users, its highest subscriber count since the service launched in the country.
According to the latest data from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK), Starlink now holds a 0.9% market share, placing it eighth among Kenya’s Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
Starlink Ranked Among Kenya’s Top 10 Fixed Internet Companies
After a temporary halt in new customer acquisitions driven by capacity constraints earlier in the year, Starlink has moved decisively back onto a growth trajectory.
It has added 2,812 subscribers, bringing its total base from 19,470 in September 2025 to 22,282, a result that speaks to the underlying demand that had been building during the pause.
Total fixed data/internet subscriptions recorded 7.4 percent growth compared to the previous quarter, reaching 2,461,981 in December 2025.
Wireless connections accounted for 880,425 subscriptions, marking an 8.1% increase.
Most of these were terrestrial wireless users (857,912 subscriptions, up 7.9%), while satellite services—led by providers like Starlink—grew 13.9% to 22,513 subscriptions.
Wired connections remained the majority with 1,581,556 subscriptions, up 7.1%.
Fibre optic dominated this segment, climbing 8.3% to 1,378,198 subscriptions, while cable modem subscriptions dipped slightly to 194,783.
DSL (copper) subscriptions declined 8.8% to 31, while other technologies, including radio-based connections, grew modestly to 8,544.

Safaricom Tops 10 Fixed Internet Providers in Kenya by Market Share
Safaricom PLC continues to dominate Kenya’s fixed internet market, commanding a 34.9 percent share with 858,394 data subscriptions.
Following closely is Jamii Telecommunications Limited, which accounts for 20.1 percent with 494,150 subscriptions.
Wananchi Group (Kenya) Limited holds 272,802 subscriptions (11.1%), while Poa Internet Kenya Limited captures 263,305 subscriptions (10.7%). Ahadi Wireless Limited accounts for 222,060 subscriptions (9%), and Vilcom Network Limited serves 133,316 subscriptions (5.4%).
At the same time, Mawingu Networks Limited came seventh with 92,016 subscriptions, representing 3.7% of the market.
Starlink Internet Services Kenya follows with 22,282 subscriptions (0.9%), closely trailed by Dimension Data Solutions East Africa Limited at 21,536 subscriptions (0.9%).
Vijiji Connect Limited holds 18,200 subscriptions, accounting for 0.7% of users.
Collectively, other providers account for 63,920 subscriptions, representing 2.6% of the market.
The total available equipped/lit international internet bandwidth capacity grew by 8.3 percent to 24,161.332 GB.
Similarly, the total utilized internet capacity grew by 22.5 percent, with 14,279.7 GB being sold in Kenya and 2,953.8 GB transiting to other countries.
