MOGO Auto Limited has invited members of the public to bid for dozens of repossessed motorcycles, tuk-tuks and a few motor vehicles through a nationwide public auction.
In a notice on August 7, the company said the sale will be conducted on an “as is, where is” basis, with prospective buyers encouraged to inspect the vehicles before submitting their bids.
Among the motorcycles on offer are TVS HLX 125, Boxer BM 100, Boxer BM 150 UG, Honda Ace 125 ES, Skygo SG 125, Ranger Sanya RY 150-18, Sonlink SL 125, Haojin HJ 125, Spiro Ekon 450, and Piaggio Open Tourer 395cc three-wheelers.
The list also includes Bajaj Maxima Z Petrol 236cc tuk tuks as well as motor vehicles such as a 2011 Suzuki Alto and a 2011 Honda Stream.
“We are inviting offers from interested parties for the purchase of Motorcycles/Tuktuks in our car yards countrywide,” read part of the notice.

According to the notice, the listed assets have assessment values ranging from about KSh40,000 for some motorcycles to KSh149,780 for a Bajaj Maxima tuk tuk.
The Suzuki Alto is listed with a forced sale value of KSh125,000, while the Honda Stream has a forced sale value of KSh680,000, making it the most expensive vehicle in the tender.
Most motorcycles have forced sale values of between KSh20,000 and KSh40,000, although some are priced higher.
For instance, a 2024 Boxer CT 125 has a forced sale value of KSh60,000, while several TVS HLX 150 and Honda Ace motorcycles are listed at between KSh30,000 and KSh40,000.
The repossessed assets are stored at MOGO branches and yards in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Embu, Kitale, Bungoma, Malindi, Migori, Kisii, Kericho, Machakos, Nyahururu, Siaya, Wote, Kabarnet, Mumias and Bomet, among other towns.
MOGO advised prospective buyers to inspect the vehicles before bidding to verify their condition and details.
Vehicle viewing can be arranged through the company’s yards.

MPs Investigate Motorcycle Loan Firms Over Repossessions of Motorcycles
The planned sale of repossessed boda bodas comes amid increased parliamentary scrutiny of asset-financing firms over their lending and recovery practices in the boda boda sector.
Earlier, the National Assembly’s Finance and National Planning Committee summoned five leading motorcycle asset financiers—Watu Credit Limited, MOGO Motorcycles Kenya, JoyInc Group, 15 Minutes and My Boda—to respond to complaints of exploitative credit terms, irregular repossessions and delayed transfer of motorcycle ownership to borrowers.
Lawmakers raised concerns over the high cost of financed motorcycles, with some riders reportedly paying between KSh204,000 and more than KSh575,000 for a single motorcycle over the loan period.

The committee also received complaints from operators who alleged that motorcycles were sometimes repossessed under unclear circumstances or stolen despite being fitted with tracking devices.
Others claimed they completed their loan repayments but experienced delays in receiving their original logbooks.
To address the concerns, the committee, chaired by Molo MP Kuria Kimani, launched a public participation exercise, inviting affected riders to submit complaints and supporting documents.
Parliament is also working with the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) and the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) to explore stricter regulations governing Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) motorcycle financing and consumer protection.
