Mudavadi and Atwoli Bury Hatchet,Agree to Work Together

Incoming Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli have agreed to work together after a bitter fallout during the run-up to the 2022 general elections.

Mudavadi and Atwoli met on Tuesday and agreed to bury the hatchet for the sake of unity among the Mulemebe nation.

The two emphasized the need for the Western bloc to unite.

During the meeting, they agreed to work together in unison for the benefit of the people.

They stated that they will; be doing this by ventilating every possible option that was aimed at building the region’s economic capacity and, by extension, the country at large.

In the 2022 elections, Atwoli supported the Azimio la umoja coalition while Mudavadi supported the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Atwoli had accused Mudavadi of being a ”lazy” politician by failing to unite the Western region voting bloc.

He blamed Mudavadi of not being serious with his presidential ambitions.

On his part, Mudavadi had accused the COTU boss of serving his selfish personal interests by auctioning the Luhyia community to Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

The larger western Kenya bloc has largely supported Raila Odinga in the past four presidential elections.

Mudavadi supported Raila during the 2007 and the 2017 presidential polls but the two fell out after the 2017 general elections.
