Residents from Ndhiwa in Homa bay county were left in shock after a woman was beheaded by unknown people on Wednesday, January 17.
According to reports, the 25-year-old woman was killed under unclear circumstances while cooking in her kitchen at Kamwala village, Ndhiwa sub-county.
The victim identified as Christine Auma was murdered by suspected criminals who broke into the kitchen as her husband and relatives were at a separate building waiting for supper.
While confirming the incident, the area assistant Chief Milton Kawino said that the deceased’s husband first heard a loud bang.
Reacting to the strange noise, the relatives quickly rushed to find out what was happening.
“They arrived at the scene and found the body in a pool of blood, with her head missing from the body,” said the chief.
The chief further noted that the husband discovered the head after searching for it all over the kitchen.
Assailants Escape
Shocked by the tragic scene, the husband is said to have raised an alarm, attracting residents from the area.
However, Kawino noted that efforts to trace the assailants turned futile as they were not spotted during the incident.
“They killed the woman and disappeared without being seen by anybody. We tried to ask residents if they could have any information, but nobody saw them,” said the administrator.
