History of Chebisaas Boys High School
A.I.C Chebisaas Boys’ High School was founded in the late 1980s by the late Mzee Edward Limo.
It was propelled by the desire to establish a boys’ school based on strong Christian principles. Limo solicited land from the then-president, and the school became a reality when his request was granted.
The school was started in 1985 under the leadership of American missionary Martel Fenning.
Fenning transformed former colonial structures in the school into classrooms, the school chapel and a dining hall.
In 1993, the government got into a partnership with the church and, as a result, appointed the first TSC-appointed headteacher to the school, Thomas Musau.
During his tenure, he transformed the school from a single-stream to a three-stream school.
Many teachers were also posted to the school by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) where previously the school employed the teachers and many of them were American and European missionaries.
The school also posted remarkable performance and emerged position 21 nationally.
