The Kenya Comprehensive Schools Headteachers Association (KECSHA) Nyanza region has invited headteachers to attend the 2026 Regional Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference.
In a notice issued on January 3 by the KECSHA Regional Governing Council, the association said the meeting will bring together headteachers from public and private comprehensive schools, alongside officials from the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), development partners, and other education stakeholders from Nyanza and across the country.
“On behalf of the Regional Governing Council, I am pleased to invite you to the 2026 KECSHA AGM and Conference. This highly anticipated event will bring together all headteachers of Comprehensive Schools from both Public and Private, MOE, TSC, Partners and education stakeholders from Nyanza and across the country,” read part of the statement.
The Nyanza conference will be held under the theme “CBE Transition: Celebrating, Strengthening Leadership, and Shaping the Future of Learning.”
The conference is scheduled to take place from April 12 to April 16, 2026, at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
Headteachers attending the meeting will be required to pay Ksh45,000, with Ksh10,000 payable to respective sub-county offices as the official conference fee. Delegates have been asked to complete registration by January 30, 2026.

KECSHA Nyanza Regional Chairman Elly Ondiek said the forum will provide school leaders with an opportunity to contribute to national discussions on education development and leadership as Kenya continues implementing the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system.
In 2024, the Kenya Primary School Headteachers Association (KEPSHA) had revised the participation fee for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference to Ksh60,000, citing prevailing inflationary pressures.

In a memo issued by the KEPSHA National Office, the association said the adjustment follows its earlier conference invitation letter dated May 13, 2024, and is intended to cushion members amid rising costs.
KEPSHA clarified that registration fees at various administrative levels remain unchanged, as previously communicated.
Members were directed to submit all payments to their respective sub-county chairpersons by September 30, 2024. The association said a revised official letter detailing the changes will be circulated within the week.

The Kenya Comprehensive Schools Headteachers Association (KECSHA) transited from the Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA).
In November, the association National Chairman, Fuad Ali Abdalla, said the association’s planned transition reflects changes in the structure of Kenya’s education system following the integration of junior secondary schools into primary institutions.
He said the move aligns with national education reforms and follows the recommendations of the 2023 Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms, which were later adopted in Sessional Paper No. 1 of 2025.
The recommendations called for strengthened leadership and structured support for comprehensive schools across the country.
He noted that placing junior secondary schools under primary school management has yielded positive results, with learners integrating well into the system.
