Kenyatta University has allocated rooms for the entire academic year, with accommodation fees payable at the beginning of each semester.
The university has classified its hostels into Western and Eastern Zones, Nyayo Zone and Parklands Campus for Bachelor of Laws students.
In the Western and Eastern Zones, single concrete rooms cost KSh6,000 per semester, while double rooms cost KSh5,600. Triple rooms are charged KSh5,000, quad rooms range between KSh4,200 and KSh4,400, hexagon rooms cost KSh4,000, and octuple rooms KSh3,800.

Moi University’s hostel accommodation fees range between KSh5,000 and KSh13,000 per academic year, depending on the hall of residence and room type.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST)
MMUST accommodation charges are based on hostel and room occupancy.
Students staying in Hall I, Hall II and Hall III will pay KSh10,000 per academic year.
Hall IV, which has double rooms for both male and female students, costs KSh16,000 per academic year.
Hall I accommodates four students per room. Hall II and Hall IV each have a capacity of two students per room for both male and female students, while Hall III accommodates between four and six students per room.
Maseno University

Kirinyaga University has published rates for privately owned hostels located near the institution.
BnD Apartment charges KSh5,000 per person per month and offers free Wi-Fi, 24-hour CCTV surveillance, free water and emergency solar lighting.
Geomar Student Hostel charges KSh4,000 per month and provides Wi-Fi, security and free water.
Alpha Hostel also charges KSh4,000 per month and offers free water, prepaid electricity and internet access.
Goshen Hostel charges KSh3,500 per month, with a refundable deposit of KSh3,500. The facility includes CCTV surveillance, reading areas, hot showers, Wi-Fi and free water.
Haven Hostel is among the most expensive options, charging KSh8,000 for executive studio units, KSh14,000 for executive double studios and KSh15,000 for a one-bedroom house.

The Co-operative University of Kenya
The Co-operative University of Kenya charges KSh12,000 per semester for on-campus accommodation, with the fees payable through the university account provided in the admission letter. The university does not accept cash payments.
Students staying in the hostels are provided with a bed, mattress, DSTV and free Wi-Fi, but are required to bring their own warm bedding and other personal items.
