Moi Gesusu High School, popularly known as Moi Gee, is an extra-county secondary school located in Keroka, Kisii County, Kenya.
It is a public boys’ boarding school known for its long history and strong alumni network.
The school is frequently cited by its community as the first boys’ high school in the region to be named after Kenya’s second president, Daniel arap Moi.
Moi Gesusu High School History
Moi Gesusu gained its current identity during the era of Kenya’s second president, Daniel arap Moi, and is noted by alumni as the first boys’ school in the region to bear the “Moi” name, a mark of prestige that helped elevate it to its current Extra-County status.
The school’s long-standing motto, “To the Uttermost,” has been the guiding philosophy for decades, leading it to produce thousands of graduates who now form a formidable alumni network across Kenya’s professional sectors.

The school boasts of a highly active alumni group on Facebook with over 8,000 members, where former students, Old Boys, actively mentor the current students.
After transitioning from a smaller boarding school, it underwent significant expansion to accommodate its current multi-story dormitory complex and a university-like campus layout.
In June 2021, a major fire destroyed a dormitory, causing temporary disruption but leading to rapid facility reconstruction.
A historical point of pride is the Moi Gee Band that has, for years, been the face of the school at regional events and national music festivals.
Notable figures like Mr. Fred Machogu, who was formerly the Boarding Master in the early 2010s, are credited by alumni for instilling the rigid discipline that defined the school’s peak years.
In January 2026, following a dip in the 2025 KCSE results to a mean score of 6.5, the school made national headlines when students staged protests and demanded the removal of the principal, Mr. Momanyi, a prominent figure who had been transferred from the top-performing Agoro Sare High School.

KSCE Performance
In the 2025 KCSE results, the school recorded a mean score of 6.5 points, placing it in the C plain category, which sparked student protests and calls for the principal’s transfer.
The school recorded a mean score of 7.2 in 2020, maintaining a competitive position in Kisii County.
Between 2021 and 2023, Moi Gesusu hovered around the 7.0-7.5 range, maintaining a record of high performance.
In 2024, the boys’ school achieved a mean score of 7.2, considered stable but stagnant by some stakeholders.
