The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopened the application window to allow students who had not yet secured a course to apply for the programmes.
The revision window was opened on March 18 and is set to run until April 4, 2024, allowing the form Four leavers to submit their applications.
Initially, KUCCPS opened the portal from February 7 to March 4, 2024, before having the deadline extended to accommodate more students.
KUCCPS in a statement on March 27 reminded applicants that the first revision of course choices for 2024 placement to universities and colleges is ongoing.
“This first revision of choices targets anyone who applied for courses in February or March 2024 and has not yet secured a course and the 2023 KCSE examination candidates who have not yet applied for courses,” the placement body said.
“Form four leavers from the year 2000 to 2022 who have never enrolled into any tertiary training institution through the KUCCPS system are also eligible for the revision.”
Questions and Answers on KUCCPS First Revision
Below are some questions and answers regarding the initial revision of courses:
1. Which courses are available on the portal? How can someone know the available programmes?
The available programmes are at all levels including degree, diploma, craft certificate and artisan certificate courses.
Note that only the courses remaining with capacity after the initial application have been provided on the portal.
Applicants should log in to students.kuccps.net to view the available programmes.
2. If someone applied recently and has received a message that they have been placed provisionally, what does it mean?
It means that the student has secured placement in one of their course choices but has to wait for the process to be completed.
They need not reapply/revise their choices. The results of the placement will be communicated to the students at the very end of the placement process.
