Kenya’s telecommunications company, Safaricom Plc, has opened applications for its 2026 internship and attachment program for students and recent graduates.
“Safaricom Internship Programme is now officially open, and we are searching for the next generation of thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers to join us,” read a notice shared on February 19.
To benefit from the program, students must meet stated requirements and apply through the career portal.
Safaricom Announces Internship and Attachment Program
The internship programs are available across several departments, giving students practical skills across their learning areas.

Students seeking attachment will be offered a 3-Month Industrial Attachment for intakes in April, July, October, and January 2027.
Recent graduates (within 12 months) and those awaiting graduation will be offered a 6-Month Internship.
The pupillage program will also be offered to Kenya School of Law students during the April and October intakes.
Programs that will be offered will be in areas including:
- HR
- Legal
- Finance
- Supply Chain
- Marketing Audit
- PR and Communications
- Enterprise
- Risk Cyber Security
- Technology
Eligibility and How to Apply
Students interested in the program must meet requirements, including:
- Be a current undergraduate university student in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of study (Bachelor’s degree program)
- Be awaiting graduation or have graduated with a bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months
- Be available on a full-time basis during the selected intake period
- Apply for only one intake per calendar year
- Commit to the full program duration – 3 or 6 months, which is non-extendable
Safaricom states that the application and recruitment process is done online through the careers portal.
Students also have to upload their curriculum vitae; they are advised to keep it updated with all details, including their portfolio.
Once logged in on the career portal, create your profile by entering the required details following these steps:
- Create your profile on our career portal.
- Add accurate contact information, including ID number, phone number, and Email address.
- Choose your skill area
- Complete the application in one session
- Upload your updated CV, and answer all questions as required

KRA Announces New Opportunities for Students
On Saturday, February 21, the Kenya Revenue Authority also announced attachment opportunities for students in their third and fourth years.
According to the authority, opportunities are available within various Support Services departments, including:

- Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing & Communication
- Communications, International Relations, Diplomacy, Public Relations

How to Apply
Students interested in the KRA Industrial Attachment Program must submit their applications online through the Authority’s e-recruitment portal. The following are the steps to follow when applying.
- Registration: Visit the KRA official website, log in, and click ‘Register’ to start the process. After registering, check your email to confirm your address and complete registration.
- Log In: Return to the website, enter your username and password, and click ‘Log in’. The system will open the Applicant page.
- In the Applicant dashboard, go to the ‘Candidate Profile’ tab and click ‘My Profile’, and follow the instructions to create or update your profile. Complete the process by clicking ‘Overview and Release’ and checking the box to finalize your profile.
- Return to the dashboard and click the ‘Employment Opportunities’ tab, and under ‘Job Search’, click ‘Start’ to view available positions. later select the job posting to view its details, then click ‘Apply’.
During the application process, complete all mandatory fields, review the Data Privacy Statement, and click ‘Send Application Now’ to submit.
